In a typical home there are a number of rooms in which the corners end up being underutilized to a high degree. One example is of the living room. A regular bookshelf may not end up flush against a corner of a wall. However if you got a specialized corner bookshelf the result will be different. Another room that could benefit from a corner shelving unit is the bathroom. If you have a small bathroom like I do then you`ll know that being cramp in it is not a good feeling at all. If I were you I would get a floating corner shelf which would simply hang on the corner of the wall.

Not only can you find some good looking corners shelves that could possibly hold your stereo speakers but you can also find them in a floating shelf design. A floating shelf is just a shelf that attaches to the wall via a bracket that has two or three rods protruding outwards. The self simply slides onto the rods and then locks in from an access screw or hex nut located on the bottom of the shelf.

One easy solution for quick storage is adjustable shelving and track shelving units are one of the best choices for easy to install adjustable shelving. This is shelving that sits on metal rails that are attached to the wall. Decide where on the walls the shelves should sit. Use a level to help position the rails on the wall where you want them. You should use a pencil to mark the place on the wall where the top of the rails hit. Now put anchors in the wall and attach the rails. Most self-installation kits come with anchors and all the fasteners you will need. Simply put the anchors into the wall and then using your wall markings screw the railings to the wall.

Corner shelves are a great looking addition for you bathroom where space is at a premium as well as your bedroom kitchen family room living room and just about anywhere else you`d like to add some style and glamour. The only drawback with corner shelves is that large objects will obviously not fit unless you make your corner shelves such a feature that they are really big but this can be done stylishly especially if you stagger the size so that the bottom one is the largest and then as they go up the wall they decrease in size. This can be quite an eyecatching interior design concept.

For those of you that aren`t really familiar with corner shelving units you might assume that they are simply shelves that sit in the living room used to hold a handful of family photographs in nice looking frames and maybe even a few decorations. This is the reason I`m writing this article - it`s so that I can dispel this myth altogether. There are actually are number of ways a corner shelves get used in a family home. On top of this they aren`t just for personal usage. They also often get used in offices.

A new shelving unit for the corner of the den is just the right addition to store those gaming remotes and add-ons. Need a place to show off the latest pictures of the grandchildren? Look for floating shelves for that big wall in the family room. Put some new open shelving in the laundry room and find a whole new airy feel to the space. Place a hanging shelf over the pantry door and double your storage. Put some new pegboard shelves in the shop and hang up all of the tools that are lying around. Think of the possibilities.
