In a typical home there are a number of rooms in which the corners end up being underutilized to a high degree. One example is of the living room. A regular bookshelf may not end up flush against a corner of a wall. However if you got a specialized corner bookshelf the result will be different. Another room that could benefit from a corner shelving unit is the bathroom. If you have a small bathroom like I do then you`ll know that being cramp in it is not a good feeling at all. If I were you I would get a floating corner shelf which would simply hang on the corner of the wall.

This type is ideal for storing items you use often as you can store particular items in compartments where you can easily find them. Shelving is an important organizational tool for both the home and work environments because it allows you to stay focused. If you prefer a freestanding shelving system for your wall be sure it is sturdy enough to stand on its own or somehow secure it to the wall with cables or hooks. This safety precaution will ensure no one will be able to pull it over and securing your wall system will keep your breakables safe as well.

Your day just moves along more smoothly when your living space is in order. The same thing holds true for your family. Children have a better shot at keeping their things put away when there is a place to store it all. Think about some brightly colored modular units for the children`s rooms. They are sturdy and easy to move around and will hold many of those oddly shaped and sized toys that Santa is planning to bring.

The older corner type shelves used to have a decorative wood or metal bracket that would be visible. Although it was easily seen it was made to blend into the decor of the room. With the modern corner shelves they can be hung with out any of the brackets being seen. You can still get a large number with decorative wall brackets but a floating type design has become so much more popular.

Oh sure. It sounds simplistic. But aren`t the simple answers sometimes the best? Maybe your problems won`t all fade away. The kids will still argue over silly things. The dog will still jump up on the pastor when he drops by. The dishes will still need washing. But maybe you`ll have time for a quiet cup of coffee in your newly-organized living space. Perhaps you won`t step on any blocks or doll-sized high heels when you go in to kiss the children good night. Or maybe you`ll just be able to find a screwdriver. Hey miracles happen.

If you`re looking for versatility go with adjustable shelving. If you`re in the habit of re-arranging your furniture on a regular basis adjustable shelving is recommended as it can be unfastened quickly from the wall and put up somewhere else.
